Choosing a Cosmetic Dentist
Choosing a cosmetic dentist can be difficult. Not only are you looking for someone to correct dental problems, but a dentist who can give you a beautiful smile.
Dear Friends,
In June of 2008, I, Dr. Avant, will have completed my 43rd year in the practice of dentistry and as you might expect, I have been thinking of slowing down a bit. As I approach retirement, I have decided to reduce the days that I practice the profession that I so dearly love. To offset the reduced time and to continue the standard of dental excellence to which you are accustomed, I have decided to merge my practice with that of another Dallas cosmetic dentist with over 30 years of clinical experience. Accordingly, I am extremely excited about and very pleased to be able to announce the addition of Dr. Richard D. Ragnell and his staff to our dental practice.
Dr. Ragnell has my highest recommendation and complete confidence in his ability and desire to care for you, your family, friends and co-workers. Please join me and my staff in welcoming Dr. Ragnell and his staff into our dental practice.
Cosmetic dentistry is unlike traditional dentistry in that it requires an artistic touch and a finely honed sense of aesthetics. Not only will a quality cosmetic dentist resolve any underlying dental issues, but he or she will do it in a way that delivers a smile you can be proud of.
When choosing a cosmetic dentist to improve your smile, there are many things to consider:
Certification/Accreditation - Ask your potential cosmetic dentist what academies or associations he or she has been accredited by or received certification from. Dr. Ragnell has trained at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and the Pankey Institute. He is an associate fellow of the American Society of Osseointegration and the American College of Oral Implantology.
Experience - Ask your cosmetic dentist how long he or she has been practicing cosmetic dentistry. Also, if they are fortunate enough to have their own cosmetic dentistry practice, ask them how long the practice has provided cosmetic dentistry services. Dr. Ragnell has decades of experience, in addition extensive training. He has taught surgical and prosthetic implant procedures for Lifecore Biomedical, and has diplomat status with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Ragnell also has over 27 years of dental implant experience.
Results - Always ask to see before and after photos of actual patients. You want to make sure that your cosmetic dentist can produce the results you want. Dr. Ragnell is so confident in his cosmetic dentistry abilities that he has provided many before and after photos for your review. Visit our gallery.
Professionalism - You want to make sure that you choose a cosmetic dentist who is professional and respectful, and one who adheres to stringent clinical standards and possesses a keen eye for detail. A dentist’s practice and team can often illustrate this. During your initial consultation, you’ll be able to observe the setting in which he or she works, as well as the individual team members. Dr. Ragnell is committed to cosmetic dentistry and treats patients with the utmost respect. Visit our office for a free initial consultation and see for yourself!
