Porcelain Crowns
If you have a tooth that needs more restoration than a filling can provide, Dr. Ragnell may suggest a porcelain crown. He uses these aesthetically pleasing restorations to repair damaged teeth and renew dental strength and beauty. Porcelain crowns can restore 98% of a tooth’s function and 100% of its appearance.
Unlike a filling, which fits inside a tooth, porcelain crowns cover the entire surface of a tooth. In the past, crowns were made of metal amalgams. Porcelain is used today. It provides the same benefits as metal but without the unsightly color and other downsides. Porcelain crowns restore structural integrity, look and feel completely natural, and deliver long-lasting beauty and function.
Dr. Ragnell will design your crown in our Plano dental office, then send your specifications to a dental lab for fabrication. You’ll wear a temporary while awaiting your permanent restoration. Once your porcelain crown is completed, we’ll remove the temporary and permanently affix your beautiful restoration.
You may qualify for a one-visit crown custom-milled in our Plano dental office. Visit our CEREC and E4D page for more information.
