Epworth Sleep Test

If you have excessive sleepiness or suspect that you have sleep apnea, you can take this test to see if you are a candidate for our treatment options.

Use the following scale to choose the most appropriate number for each situation:

0 = No chance of dozing
1 = Slight chance of dozing
2 = Moderate chance of dozing
3 = High chance of dozing

Sitting inactive in a public place such as a movie theatre:
Riding in a car for an hour without a break:
Lying down to rest in the afternoon:
Sitting and talking quietly to someone:
Sitting quietly after a lunch with no alcohol:
In your car, while stopped for traffic or at a red light:

Results

If you scored 1-6, OSA is not likely; a score of 7-8 is average; and if you scored a 9 or higher, then you should probably seek the advice of a specialist in sleep apnea like Dr. Cliff Avant.
