Our modern jaws can’t accommodate the large third molars. So, more often than not, they become encased in bone or tissue, called impaction, or they emerge and crowd other teeth. In both situations, extraction is needed to remove wisdom teeth and prevent the oral health problems and discomfort caused by these large third molars.
